Great service

Mr. Richardson came out when he said he would, cleaned my very dirty fireplace and chimney, gave me advice about gas logs, and told me something about operating the damper to avoid future problems. Very professional -- I am a satisfied customer!

Very Honest and Professional

After reading all the great reviews, I called Mr. Richardson to inspect and clean my chimney. I must say, he is a very honest man. It's difficult to find companies today that give home owners tips on how to clean and repair things themselves to avoid spending hundreds of dollars that are simple fixes. I would definitely recommend A Certified Chimney Sweep to everyone!

Honest, reliable service

Mr. Richardson did some mortar work on our chimney, and we would highly recommend him to anyone. We were not able to be home at the time work was performed, but were pleased to find a detailed voice mail of what he did. We have complete trust he did a great job, and I know if something popped up, Mr. Richardson would respond to a problem right away.

The appointment was scheduled at my convenience and the technician arrived within the 2 hour window (and called on the way!). He was very friendly and professional. Since the work he performed ended up being less than we thought it would be, he only charged me for an inspection and not a full cleaning. very honest! would highly recommend them to anyone.


HONEST! - CALL THEM BEFORE YOU HAVE ANY WORK DONE

We moved here in April and as part of our home inspection, had the chimneys and wood burning stove inserts cleaned and inspected. The previous owner called one of the "big name" companies, who told her that both chimneys were badly deteriorated inside and needed stainless steel liners, to the tune of $2500 each. She told us she suspected this man wasn't being honest because he claimed to have dropped a camera down for the inspection, but she never saw the footage. We bought the house anyway, and I decided to get three estimates for the liners, fully expecting that we needed the liner. I used the same company who had done the inspection, another "big name" company, and A Certified Chimney Sweep. Both of the first two insisted we needed the stainless steel liners, and that it would be dangerous to use the fireplace without them. The cost was $2200-$2500 each. Mr. Richardson came out today, looked inside, and told me that not only do we not need ANY repairs done to the interior of the chimney, but it already has a 5 foot stainless steel liner, which is all it needs. I am FURIOUS that the other two companies tried to pull this nonsense, but am so happy I called A Certified Chimney Sweep. I had him inspect the outside of the chimney and he found one minor (and cheap) problem, and that was it. I just saved $2000+ by calling them, and this will be the only company I call from now on.



THIS Is the Way a Business Should be Run

Mr. L. M. Richardson and his associate recently swept my chimney. They arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently, honored the reasonable price quotation, and left NO mess. Mr. Richardson was cordial, professional, and I was entirely at ease having him and his associate in my home. I asked Mr. Richardson to return later in the week, and he resolved a dryer vent problem that no other service I called in the past 23 years seemed to be able to handle. I've written letters to the management association and board members of my large condo complex urging them to let all the other homeowners know about Mr. Richardson's service. In a perfect world, all businesses would be run in the same way Mr. Richardson conducts his business.


Great Service

Mr. Richardson was timely, courteous and did a great job on our chimney. We also used his company to clean our air vents and dryer vent. Darnell was on time, answered my many questions and did an excellent job. Not only did he clean the vents, he turned them all around so they were facing the right way - something our builder didn't think to do!! I would definitely use this company again!


They swept me away

Damper would not open or close. Was told lever might be off track. Spoke to several companies before I found Marilyn at A Certified Chimney Sweep. Marylyn was warm and wonderful. Fabian came to my house on-time and worked Magic. He explained everything and did a great job. Other companies wanted to charge double for just coming out. Would use them again w/o hesitation.

Mr Richardson arrived exactly as promised and performed the job. He recommended a repair, which he told me how we could do ourselves. I am extremely satisfied and will call him again next year!

I normally do not take the time to rate companies on the service provided, but i could not help it this time. It is such a refreshing change when you get exceptional service from a provider. I was so impressed with the service from LM Richardson that I will be sure to recommend to family & friends. Darnell came out to my home and really educated me on what I need to know about my air ducts & fireplace, in turn will save me $ money in the future. I can tell a big difference in the air I breath now in my home. Very freindly & knowledgable. Thanks again guys!



Superior Service and Professional!!!

This company is a rare find. The customer service is top notch. I received a reminder notice about my appointment in the mail. When Mr. Richardson arrived, he was on time, knowledgeable, and friendly. He took the time to answer all of my questions--and I had a few. Additionally, he's honest and fair. He did not charge me the quoted price because my chimney and fireplace were in good condition and did not need cleaning. Finally, I did not have the key for my fireplace, and Mr. Richardson let me have one of his. I highly recommend this company.


An HONEST Chimney Sweep

Mr. Richardson should change his company's name to an HONEST Chimney Sweep. The experience was excellent. He sent a reminder in the mail a few days ahead of the appointment, showed up early and did not try to sell me something I did not need - unlike another, much larger, service based in Alpharetta. I recommend Mr. Richardson unconditionally.


Super Honest and Professional!

We are new to the area and rely on Kudzu reviews for guidance. In my experience, the other reviews for this service were right on point - this is a very professional and honest company. We had just moved into our house and did not know whether or not the chimney needed service but wanted to err on the safe side. Our chimney sweep showed up on time. He checked the chimney, said that it was fine and really didn't need cleaning. He only charged us 2/3 of the quoted service call fee as a result. He could as easily have told us otherwise and collected the entire fee and we wouldn't have known the difference. I will definitely use this company again!

I've used this company at two different houses for both chimney and vent cleaning. They were very professional and good to work with. I would use them again and recommend them whenever the opportunity arises.


Very Impressed

Called to get ready for this winter. A technician was sent over the same day, the work was done quickly and with skill. We were very impressed. There was no mess to our home or carpet. The technician was very knowledgeable and respectful.

Honest, thorough, dependable service

All of the other reviews are true. I received no pitches for unneeded products or services, no upsells - just honest, thorough, dependable service. Mr Richardson installed a chimney cap, a damper and cleaned my chimney. He charged me an insignificant amount for some masonry repair that he could have charged me a lot more for without me knowing that it would have been a rip-off. Mr Richardson gave me honest and does a quality job, and those things seem to be getting harder to find these days.

Knowledgable and Friendly

Mr Richardson came out and cleaned our chimney and gave it a through inspection. I had some cracks in the back fire wall and he easily repaired them without any extra charge. Only downside is because he's so popular its hard to get an appointment without a 2-3 week notice.

What a wonderful find! I called and made an appointment. A postcard came in the mail for me to confirm my appointment. The technicians were on time, not in a hurry, patiently answered all of my questions and I will never forget what a pleasurable experience it was. I would recommend this company to everybody! I cannot stress enough how pleased I was!

Only complaint is how busy they are during the fall. I should have gotten it swept before the weather turned cold. Took 3 weeks to get an appointment.


Short Notice, Perfect Job

Great company to deal with. Competitively priced and a high level of service means I will certainly call them again. They came out, right on time, the same day. Great work, very helpful

My wife and I moved into our house to find that the previous owner had not used the two fireplaces in our house in 20+ years. We called LM Richardson and not only were they extremely prompt, they offered me advice on how to use both the fireplaces in the best manner possible. very reliable

I needed a chimney damper installed on my home. I called this company (after using Kudzu). They told me how much it would cost and when they would be at my home. They arrived exactly on time and charged me exactly what they said. Great work.


CURED MY HEADACHE

We own a rental property in Sandy Springs and a primary residence in Roswell. A previous Chimney Sweep Company hired to clean and inspect both properties' fireplaces and chimneys informed me that my Sandy Springs property's fire place had to be condemned. The reason? Apparently the ''pipe'' lining of the firebox was coming apart at the seams. I was told that the only remedy was to have the fireplace torn out and completely replaced. I was also informed in writing that the floor and firebrick wall, rain pan and cap of the fireplace had to be replaced, as well as the total replacement of the rain pan at the Roswell house. The estimate for the demolition and rebuilding was over $5000. An obscure Georgia law was being cited as the cause of the condemnation. I called Mr. L.M. Richardson, who had been honored by a large number of favorable references on another review service, to offer a second opinion. Mr. Richardson thoroughly inspected the ''condemned'' fireplace and pronounced it in good shape and without problems. He told me that I was about to be the victim of a not uncommon scam. An inner voice had told me to get a second opinion and I am very glad I did. Having no knowledge of the workings of fireplaces, Mr. Richardson could have told me anything, but instead he told me the truth. I am grateful for his ethics and his expertise and I gladly refer him and his company to all Kudzu members in the Atlanta area as a most reliable person.
